
His Excellency the Health Minister met with the visiting team from Fortis Hospital, Kolkata, India, ahead of their Cardiac Follow-up Camp at JDWNRH today. The one day camp will provide post-operative consultations for Bhutanese patients who underwent cardiac procedures at the Fortis Hospital.
His Excellency conveyed appreciation to the Fortis team for their continued support and compassionate care. A special note of gratitude was extended to Dr. K.M. Mandana and Dr. Shuvanan Roy, whose genuine dedication to Bhutan’s health journey has made a lasting impact.
The meeting also explored future collaboration~ particularly capacity building to initiate open-heart surgery services within Bhutan. His Excellency emphasized the importance of technical training and mentorship to strengthen local expertise.
In addition, the discussion touched on epilepsy and the stigma surrounding it. Both sides shared ideas on how to raise awareness, improve care, and foster understanding within communities.
