Hon’ble Health Minister Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk is leading the Bhutanese delegation to the Seventy‑ninth World Health Assembly from 18 to 24 May 2026. This year’s assembly will focus on strengthening health emergency preparedness, WHO and UN reforms, and advancing integrated action on NCDs, among other priorities.

Hon’ble Lyonpo will hold meetings with WHO leadership, health ministers from member states and heads of international agencies to explore partnerships to advance the national health agenda. Expected outcomes include renewed political commitments to finance UHC and emergency readiness, technical resolutions on NCDs and mental health, and strengthened partnerships to operationalize equity‑centred action.
