DESCRIPTION:The Ministry of Health formally commenced the Four-Day Onboardi
 ng Programme for newly appointed health officials at Zhinchenkhar\, Langjo
 phakha\, Thimphu from 20–26 February 2026.\n\nThe opening session was gr
 aciously graced by the Hon’ble Sowai Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk. A total of 
 157 health professionals appointed across various health facilities nation
 wide are participating in the programme.\n\nThe event was attended by the 
 Dasho Secretary\, Heads of Departments\, and senior officials\, including 
 representatives from Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhuta
 n\, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital\, and National Medica
 l Services.\n\nKey Messages from the Hon'ble Lyonpo\n\nIn his address\, Ly
 onpo Tandin Wangchuk congratulated the new appointees and underscored the 
 profound responsibility entrusted to health professionals. He emphasized:\
 n\nCompassion and empathy in patient care\nProfessional integrity and acco
 untability\nDedication to public service\nContinuous learning and teamwork
 \n\nThe Lyonpo reminded participants that beyond technical expertise\, the
  true essence of healthcare lies in humanity\, ethical conduct\, and servi
 ce to the nation. He encouraged the new officials to uphold the values and
  standards of the Ministry and to contribute meaningfully toward strengthe
 ning Bhutan’s health system.\nOver the four days\, various departments w
 ill deliver sessions outlining their mandates\, roles\, and responsibiliti
 es. The programme also includes:\n~ Experience-sharing sessions\n~ Interac
 tive discussions\n~ Question-and-answer forums\n~ Engagement activities to
  enhance institutional understanding\n\nThis onboarding programme serves a
 s a foundational platform to orient new officials\, foster professional id
 entity\, and align them with the vision and priorities of the Ministry of 
 Health prior to their placement in respective agencies.\nTogether\, buildi
 ng a compassionate and resilient health system for the people of Bhutan.
