 to strengthen Outreach Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:The Hon’ble Health Minister officially inaugurated ten Mobile
  Medical Units (MMU) vehicles (out of the total of 29)\, marking a signifi
 cant milestone in Bhutan’s efforts to enhance healthcare access across t
 he country. The vehicles are set to be deployed to selected health facilit
 ies bringing essential medical services closer to communities\, particular
 ly in remote and hard-to-reach areas.\n\nThe procurement of these MMUs aim
 s to strengthen outreach health services and ensure equitable access to qu
 ality healthcare for all. By bringing medical care directly to communities
 \, the MMUs are expected to improve early diagnosis\, treatment\, and prev
 entive care\, reducing barriers for populations living far from traditiona
 l health facilities.\n\nThe MMUs will provide services such as NCD screeni
 ng\, outpatient consultations\, Maternal and Child Healthcare (MCH)\, Sexu
 al and Reproductive Health (SRH) services\, as well as health advocacy and
  promotion activities.\n\nThe 10 MMU vehicles will be deployed to the foll
 owing health facilities: Trashigang Hospital\, Samtse Hospital\, Yebilapts
 a Hospital\, Wangdue Phodrang Hospital\, Haa Hospital\, Samdrup Jongkhar H
 ospital\, Trongsa Hospital\, Lhuentse Hospital\, Pema Gatshel Hospital\, a
 nd the Eastern Regional Referral Hospital in Mongar.\n\nThe Ministry of He
 alth expresses gratitude to the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient As
 ia and the Pacific (JFPR) and the Asian Development Bank for their support
  in procuring MMUs to strengthen healthcare delivery across Bhutan.
