DESCRIPTION:\nAs global health challenges increasingly transcend national b
 orders\, effective diplomacy has never been more critical. The Ministry of
  Health in common with World Health Organization Bhutan jointly is conveni
 ng a four-day Global Health Diplomacy Workshop starting today. The worksho
 p is facilitated by the International Health Policy Program (IHPP)\, Thail
 and\, and aims to strengthen Bhutan’s institutional readiness for effect
 ive engagement in global health governance.\n\n\nAt the opening of the wor
 kshop\, Health Secretary Dasho Pemba Wangchuk underscored the strategic im
 portance and growing urgency of global health diplomacy for Bhutan\, parti
 cularly in navigating complex international health negotiations and govern
 ance processes.\n\n\nThe workshop is attended by around 60 officials from 
 the Ministry of Health\, National Medical Services\, Ministry of Finance a
 nd Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade\, reflecting a strong wh
 ole-of-government approach to advancing Bhutan’s role in global health.\
 n\n\nThis workshop has been designed as a strategic investment in Bhutan
 ’s institutional capacity\, particularly at a time when the country is p
 reparing for a historic responsibility\, the Chairmanship of the WHO Execu
 tive Board in 2026\, coinciding with the election of the next WHO Director
 ‑General.\n\n\nThe workshop focuses on:\n1) WHO governance and decision-
 making\n2) Forming and advancing national &amp\; regional positions\n3) Ne
 gotiation and diplomatic practice\n4) Strategic communication\n\n
