SUMMARY:Launch of the First-Ever Basic Joint FETP in Bhutan- A Historic Mil
 estone in Public Health!
DESCRIPTION:We are proud to announce the successful launch of the first-eve
 r Basic Joint Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in Bhutan\, a rem
 arkable step in strengthening our health systems. This program\, launched 
 yesterday\, represents a joint collaboration among One Health partners: th
 e Ministry of Health (MoH)\, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mo
 AL)\, and the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUM
 SB).\n\nThe Basic Joint FETP course\, endorsed by the 7th Inter-Ministeria
 l Committee on One Health (IMCOH) on 12 December\, underscores our nation
 ’s commitment to integrating human\, animal\, and environmental health. 
 This initiative is supported by the Pandemic Fund project\, highlighting i
 ts critical role in enhancing Bhutan’s capacity to address public health
  emergencies.\n\nThis training program equips our multidisciplinary health
  workforce with vital skills in outbreak investigation\, disease surveilla
 nce\, and emergency response. By adopting a One Health approach\, the prog
 ram fosters collaboration across sectors to ensure a coordinated and effec
 tive response to health threats.\n\nIn the words of our Chief Guest\, Dr C
 hoeda Gyeltsen\, Medical Superintendent of Central Regional Referral Hospi
 tal (CRRH) during the opening ceremony:\n"The launch of this program marks
  a significant milestone in our efforts to ensure a robust and resilient h
 ealth system. It reflects the commitment of all stakeholders to safeguardi
 ng the well-being of our people and future generations."\n\nWe extend our 
 heartfelt gratitude to all facilitators\, mentors\, participants\, and par
